The Angel Project

What if you were alone, in hospital for long term complex care with no family or friends to help?

You would wish for an angel.

The Angel Project brings a human touch and gives dignity to people in hospital for long-term complex care. Often times these are people who have no family, or loved ones are unable to visit given the length of their stay, or they have simply outlasted friends and family. Although each of us believes this will never happen to us, as we look at our vibrant lives, in truth it can.

Gyld Gives Media Relations to the Angel Project's Couture for a Cause gala
The Angel Project's central fundraising initiative is their annual Couture for a Cause event and Gyld Collective is pleased to announce we will provide media and PR support for the gala to be held October 13, 2012 in Toronto. The event also has the support of numerous corporate sponsors including: Hastens, FedEx Canada, Carlsberg Canada, TAG Vodka, Kingo Couture, Geoffrey Chapman Modeling and Talent Agency. Some exciting social media partners include the indie band sensation Walk off the Earth, Ice.com the leading online fine jewelry retailer.

Tickets are $150 and along with the support of event sponsors, auction of donated items and ongoing sales of the signature Angel Pendant, all proceeds go directly to pay for the needs of patients.

The Angel Project, a registered charity, was founded when likeminded individuals came together to find a way to include long-term care patients into the festivities of the holidays. The Angel Project provides gifts, visits and community to the patients – so none will be ignored. In 2008 they began helping patients at Canada’s largest complex care facility, Parkwood Hospital in London, and have found the need is in every community. The Angel Project is now active in four hospitals in Ontario, and have plans to expand to other facilities in western Canada.
